One of the most popular of stadium flags waves proudly above one of the most famous baseball stadiums in the world. The venue is Wrigley Field, and the stadium flag is the “Cubs Win Flag.”
Now a vital symbol to Cubbies fans everywhere, the white Cubs Win Flag is raised over the stadium every time that the Chicago Cubs are victorious. It is typically a Blue “W” on a white background, while the less-popular “Cubs Lose Flag” consists of a white “L” on a blue background. (This color scheme was set in the early 1980s, as up until that point the scheme had been reversed.)
The flag is raised on the main scoreboard “masthead,” which has been a part of the stadium since 1938. It was a few short years later than then-Cubs-owner Philip K. Wrigley started having his staff raise a flag at the end of each game showing whether the Cubs had won or lost that day.
The phrase “White Flag Time at Wrigley!” is now uttered by Cubs play-by-play announcers at the conclusion of a victory. It symbolizes the raising of the white victory flag. The phrase was originally coined by announcer Chip Caray, grandson of the legendary St. Louis Cardinals and Chicago Cubs announcer, the late Harry Caray.
The stadium flag has become such a popular symbol to Cubs fans that many retailers sell different versions for fans to bring to games or have in their homes.

There are tons of things to do with customized vinyl banners. Here are just a few:
1. Happy Birthday Flag Banners: Because just saying it often isn’t enough for your friends and family.
2. Protest banners: If you want to march and defend your right to civil disobedience.
3. Taunt Tiger Woods: At the Masters, a banner read “TIGER DID YOU MEAN BOOTYISM?”
4. Self-Promotion: Just make sure you can’t get in trouble for placing the flag banners where they don’t belong.
5. Advertise your company: which is different from the above because you’re company isn’t just you (unless it is).
6. Celebrate the 4th: It’s this Sunday! Do you have flag banners ready?
7. Support your team: Printed banners at the game will definitely make the cameraman choose you for the spot in between commercials and play.
8. Choose a cause: choose anti-genocide, or social libertarianism to advertise. Make sure it means something to you or else it would kind of be a waste
9. Welcome: Whether it’s the in-laws or kids at summer camp, a welcome sign is a great way to make everyone feel at home.
These tips should leave you with a good place to start. If you have any more ideas, add them to the list!

With summer around again, it’s wedding season. To commemorate the union of two friends or loved ones, nothing does the job like outdoor banners. Flag banners are a great way to display a message, so follow these tips to make the happy couple feel even more special.
1. Back of the car: You can customize a picture of the “Just Married” couple and fit it to the back window or you can make a flag banner and attach it to the car so that it flutters in the wind.
2. Outside of the reception: Hanging the banner outside of the reception area is a great way to show off. You can hang it on the road too, so that everyone driving past knows who the bride and groom are, or if there is another locale on the route of the couple, call ahead to see if you can hang it outside.
3. Their House: Outside of the couple’s home is a great place to hang outdoor banners – all the neighbors will see and bring them fruitcakes and other wedding presents.
4. Honeymoon: If you really want to be subtle, you can send the banner to the hotel where the couple is staying and ask the manager to hang it in their room. This can be one of the most surprising places to find customized vinyl banners.
No matter where you hang it, make sure someone saves the banner - it's a great way to remember a once in a lifetime event.

Printed banners can do a lot for a business. They send a message to the world, and show people that your company is one to be reckoned with. Flag banners, customized vinyl banners, outdoor banners – all of them give light to you.
Getting creative with printing is a great way to stand apart from the crowd. Color and humor are two very important ways to reach an audience that otherwise will walk past. To reach people it’s important to think about what grabs your own attention, and apply that technique to your outdoor banners.
Banners are the best way to make yourself known. When they flap in the wind they command attention, and people loving hearing the thwap of a banner whipping back and forth. There’s something very patriotic about it – you know the song “The Star Spangled BANNER,” a.k.a. the ol’ national anthem. Thus the correlation between patriotism and your company comes into being, and pretty soon, people are buying your stuff in order to feel American. These psychological nuances do exist, however subconsciously.
Flying a banner is a great way to become a top seller in your industry and to give people inspiration to buy American.

Baseball remains America’s favorite pastime. Few things rival the beauty of a white leather ball with red stitches as it sits on the fresh green turf, waiting to be picked up and thrown, caught by a well broken in mitt.
Some may say it’s boring, but they don’t realize the game’s intricacies. The players, and good fans, know all about what could happen when a runner’s on base or when there’s an infield fly. Some people just want action, and in that case, they should turn to basketball.
But part of the game’s beauty is that it is played outdoors, and not only that, but it requires nice weather. When the sun is shining bright and the dirt of the infield is moist and brown and the bases are white and clean, and the wind whips the stadium flags high above, then you know that it’s time to play ball.
Those stadium flags are really something. Do you know who designs them? Chances are it’s Five Boro Banner & Sign. They also have vinyl banner printing and outdoor banners for all occasions. Playing baseball without some team spirit wouldn’t be the same. That’s why flag banners are as American as the game itself.

If you're looking to reach a large amount of people, advertising with outdoor banners is the way to go. Of course, outdoor advertising has one major obstacle — it's outdoors. That means your printed banners have to be sturdy enough to withstand wind, rain, snow, and sun damage.
When it comes to standing up to the elements, you can't do better than vinyl. Customized vinyl banners are made out of a vinyl polymer called polyvinyl chloride, or PVC. PVC is designed to withstand extreme hot and cold temperatures. The material is completely waterproof and doesn't fade in the sun.
Why is weather resistance so important? Your outdoor printed banners are representing your business. Beyond simply advertising specials and sales, the quality of your banners speaks to the quality of your business.
Subconsciously, people will associate a faded, raggedy banner with a business in a similar state of disrepair. But a vibrant banner that lasts for months will tell them something different — that your business is here to stay.
Durability has another perk — since vinyl printed banners hold up to the elements, you can use them for years, allowing you money to go farther.

If you're thinking about ordering customized vinyl banners, you might be wondering — what kind of businesses has All Star Graphics served? Read on to learn about two of our favorite custom banner projects.
The New York City Marathon
In the mid 1970s, The New York City Marathon evolved from a humble meeting of 100 or so runners to a worldwide affair when the track expanded to include all five boroughs. AllStarGraphics.com designed this 25-mile banner for the marathon's path along Central Park. The marathon's outdoor banners had to be big and vibrant enough to catch participants in motion — and to give those sponsors their money's worth.
Water: H2O = Life
The Water: H2O = Life exhibit covered the universality of water — how it is essential to life and a part of every language. This international exhibit began at the American Museum of Natural History in November 2007, and All Star Graphics was there to spread the word via custom vinyl banner printing. We designed a large outdoor banner for the museum's front archway, featuring — among other details — lifelike water ripples.

Are you thinking about promoting your business with outdoor printed banners? If so, these tips might come in handy:
1. Choose easy-to-ready type. Whether your target audience is walking, driving, or floating past in a hot air balloon, it's important to choose your font, color, and text-size with an eye toward readability. Nobody can respond to your message if they can't see it!
2. Take the pulse of the neighborhood. Think about the people who will see your banners in various locations. Will they be young or old, rich or poor, commuters or residents? These factors should inform the tone and content of your banners.
3. Go 3D in 2D. We'd all like to invest in eye-catching 3D banners, but such bells and whistles can get expensive, fast. For a compromise, we recommend creating a 3D design out of 2D materials. Consult a graphic artist for ideas, or search online.
4. Make your product or service clear. Even if consumers find your outdoor banners aesthetically appealing or cleverly worded, none of that matters if they don't understand what products or services you are looking to advertise. So be clear!

Vinyl might seem like a relic of the past in the music industry, but the material is still very much alive when it comes to outdoor banners. Vinyl banner printing has a number of huge advantages, as vinyl is affordable, durable, and lends itself to printed banners and flags of all sizes.
Affordability: Vinyl banner printing has been greatly simplified by digital technology, which has in turn lowered the price to consumers. Plus, vinyl signs, banners, and flags are easy to put up, take down, and put up again, so you can get multiple uses out of a single investment!
Durability: Always water resistant, vinyl banners are designed to stand up to extreme temperatures without cracking or tearing. This way, your outdoor banners won't come down until you want them to come down.
Versatility: Whether you're looking to turn heads among the crowds in Times Square or simply throw an office party, vinyl banner printing can accommodate. Vinyl banners are available in all shapes and sizes, and they can be customized to include graphics of all kinds.
With so many benefits, it's no wonder that so many people choose vinyl for their printing needs. Next time you're in the market for printed banners, keep vinyl in mind!

All Star Graphics produces stadium flags and flag banners for a range of high-profile clients in New York City, including the New York Yankees, Lincoln Center, Madison Square Garden, Brooklyn Academy of Music, and Brooklyn Bridge, which sports the stars and stripes of the USA flag.
Spring is the perfect time to walk over the Brooklyn Bridge and enjoy unrivaled views of Manhattan and Brooklyn. Built in 1883 and at 5,989 feet (or 1825 meters), the Brooklyn Bridge was the longest suspension bridge in the world until 1903 and is an iconic part of the city’s skyline.
To walk over the bridge from Manhattan, take the 4, 5 or 6 train to Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall, or the J train to Chambers Street. Head up the concrete ramp, and once your feet are on the stately wooden ramps, you know you’re on the bridge. Make sure you keep clear of the bike lane.
From the bridge, you’ll see iconic structures including the Empire State Building and the Woolworths Building. The Statue of Liberty is to the right, and the Manhattan Bridge is to the left.
To add a touch of USA patriotism to your home or building with flag banners, contact All Star Graphics today!

Take a look at that big blue sky. It was a lovely day last Tuesday, and Yankee Stadium looked beautiful decorated with printed banners and flags by www.AllStarGraphics.com. Shortly after this picture was taken, fans poured into the stadium to support the 2009 World Series champions as they faced the Los Angeles Angels for their season home opener.
The Yanks managed to pull off a 7-5 victory over the Angels, however Tuesday’s game was not without its surprises. By the end of the eighth inning, the Yankees had 7 runs to the Angels’ 1, but the L.A. team came close to turning it around in the top of the ninth, scoring an impressive 4 runs.
But before the game even started, former Yankee (and current Angel) Hideki Matsui received a warm welcome in Yankee Stadium, as he was given his championship ring for the 2009 World Series. As a prank, the Yankees at first presented Matsui with a replica ring, then Joe Girardi, the manager, gave him the real one during the pregame introductions.
All Star Graphics was happy to be a part of such a memorable game, as our stadium flags celebrated the Yanks’ 27 World Series championship wins, and our red, white, and blue bunting reminded us that baseball is, after all, America’s pastime.

Fans of the New York Yankees rejoiced last fall when the team won the 2009 World Series – the Yanks’ first since the year 2000 – and now it’s time to gear up for another exciting season. The Yankees play their first home game tomorrow in the recently renovated stadium, and All Star Graphics is joining in on the fun with special opening day flag banners commemorating the team’s 27 championship victories.
From the Yankees’ 1923 triumph over the New York Giants (now in San Francisco) to last year’s 4–3 win against the Philadelphia Phillies, www.AllStarGraphics.com created a banner for every championship, including the new world champion logo celebrating all 27 wins – the highest in the league! We also produced the red, white, and blue bunting that will be present throughout the stadium.
So, why do the Yankees love All Star Graphics?
We may not have 40 American League pennants under our belt, but All Star Graphics provides the customer service worthy of champions. For the Yankees, we’re in charge of both decorating the stadium and removing the decorations in time for Wednesday’s game.
At www.AllStarGraphics.com, we provide printed banners and flags with this level of customer service to clients of all kinds – even Red Sox fans!

AllStarGraphics.com is excited to announce one of our latest large projects: New York’s Belmont Park! The New York Racing Association has given All Star Graphics the honor of decorating the Belmont Park racetrack with our outdoor banners and flags – which means they’ll be up for opening day and the ever-important Belmont Stakes!
The Belmont Stakes represents the last – and often most compelling – round of the Triple Crown, as the 1.5 mile track at Belmont Park is much longer than those of the Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes. This means that even top-rated horses can flounder when thrown off by the increased distance, allowing for some huge upsets. The Belmont Stakes is also famous for the white carnations hung around the winning horse’s neck.
To check out the Belmont Stakes – and our incredible flag banners – mark your calendars for Friday, April 30, which is Belmont Park’s opening day, and Saturday, June 5, the day of the big race! And, whether you’re hosting a horse race, a fire sale, or anything in between, remember to choose AllStarGraphics.com for all your customized vinyl banners and flags.

My partner and I founded an after-school children's dance program last year, and the program quickly went from strength to strength. It was time to give our first performance: a venue had been secured, invitations to the parents had been sent, flyers had been posted, and a newsletter article had been published. But something was missing: customized vinyl banners!
We needed a banner to display at the performance – and we needed it fast! We searched the Internet for a vinyl banner printing company that could create a high-quality banner for us at an affordable cost within a tight timeframe. After requesting a couple of quotes, we received a free quote which we were happy with, and accepted it right away.
The staff were so professional and easy to work with, and they were keen to help us choose a banner that suited our needs. We decided on a nylon Appliqué banner, and the creative staff advised on colors and imagery. All we had to do was provide our logo!
After signing off on the artwork, we received our new, eye-catching banner in the mail – just in the nick of time. We used it at the entrance to the performance venue, and it gave our event a really professional feel.
